Investment Banker
Investment bankers advise companies on mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, and fundraising. One of the highest-paying careers in finance.
What Does an Investment Banker Do?
Investment bankers help companies raise capital (through equity/debt), execute mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and provide strategic financial advisory. They build financial models, prepare pitch decks, negotiate deal terms, and work with senior executives. The work is intense — 80-100 hour weeks are common in bulge-bracket banks — but the compensation is among the highest in any profession.
