Marketing Manager Salary in India (2026)

A marketing manager in India typically earns ₹4–8 lakh a year at entry level, ₹10–22 lakh at mid level, and ₹25–60 lakh or more in senior and CMO-track roles. Pay varies with the industry, the size of the brand and how measurable your results are: performance and product marketing roles tend to pay well because they are tied to revenue.

  • Entry level (marketing executive, management trainee, digital marketing associate): ₹4–8 LPA
  • Mid level (brand manager, product marketing manager, growth or performance marketing manager): ₹10–22 LPA
  • Senior leader (marketing head, VP or CMO track): ₹25–60+ LPA
  • FMCG, technology and e-commerce companies generally pay more than small agencies and local businesses

Top-ranked MBA programmes lead to higher starting offers, but marketers without one can also grow quickly by building a record of campaigns that moved measurable numbers — leads, sales, retention — in digital channels.

What Does a Marketing Manager Actually Do?

Marketing managers decide how a product or brand reaches and persuades its audience. The work involves understanding customers through research and data, setting positioning and pricing messages, planning campaigns across channels, managing budgets and agencies, and measuring what worked. Today most roles are data-driven: you are expected to read dashboards as comfortably as creative briefs.

Marketers work in FMCG, technology, e-commerce, media, banking, education and consulting, as well as agencies. Roles range from brand management and content strategy to performance marketing, product marketing, marketing analytics and CRM. Early jobs often mix execution — running campaigns and reports — with learning one specialism well.
