Pharmacist Salary in India (2026)
A pharmacist in India typically earns ₹3–6 lakh a year after a B.Pharm, ₹6–15 lakh with an M.Pharm or industry experience, and ₹15–30 lakh or more in pharma management and regulatory roles. The range is wide because pharmacy spans retail dispensing at one end and drug development and regulatory work at the other.
- B.Pharm entry level (retail, hospital, QC or production trainee): ₹3–6 LPA
- M.Pharm or industry experience (formulation, QA, regulatory affairs, clinical research): ₹6–15 LPA
- Pharma management, senior regulatory and R&D leadership: ₹15–30+ LPA
- Hospital pharmacists in government service are paid on fixed pay scales with allowances
Retail and hospital pharmacy roles tend to sit at the lower end, while industry positions in quality, regulatory affairs and research pay more and offer faster growth. A postgraduate degree usually separates the bands.
